Moreover, the data also reveals that the share of inkjet printing in the total printed textile market has risen from 6% to 10%. The fashion industry is witnessing a remarkable transformation, thanks to digital textile printing technologies, which are also contributing to a greener future. FESPA, the global printing federation, reports that these advancements are making a significant impact on sustainability. Currently, the textile printing industry generates a staggering 30 billion square meters of printed fabric annually, within a market worth 165 billion worldwide. With the world's population on the rise, this industry is projected to grow even further, emphasizing the need for environmentally friendly technologies. Digital textile printing machines are emerging as a key solution, capable of conserving up to 600 percent more water compared to traditional methods. This achievement marks an essential step towards reducing the ecological footprint of the textile industry and ensuring a more sustainable future.

 

Uses 6x Less Ink
Textile printing processes require a significant amount of water and ink. In the case of rotary screen printing, approximately 35-60cc of ink is consumed per meter. However, with the emergence of digital textile printing, which incorporates Piezo electric printheads that spray tiny ink droplets onto the fabric's surface, the ink consumption is significantly reduced to only 6-9cc per meter. This efficient technology ensures minimal ink wastage and promotes a more sustainable printing approach.

 

To put it simply, if a rotary head printer were to produce a print run of 10,000 meters, it would consume more than 540 kilos of ink. In contrast, a digital printer would only use 90 kilos of ink. It's worth noting that the primary component in aqueous ink dispersions is water. Therefore, opting for digital textile printing machines can lead to a remarkable 600 percent reduction in water consumption.
